Playing 1080p and 4K videos results in stuttering (4K) and buffering (1080p) with SRT subtitles are enabled. This seems to have happened recently, possibly with the latest UNO release. It worked fine at least a few weeks ago.
This happens on:
- Samsung UE55KS7000 (Tizen 2.4.0) with the latest Plex Client.
- LG OLED55C7V-Z (WebOS 05.80.35) with the latest Plex Client.
This doesn’t happen on:
- Nvidia Shield
- Plex Media Player 3.104.2
On all 4 clients, the same two 1080p and one 4K video was tested. For all videos, on all clients, the video, audio and SRT subtitles showed as “Direct Play”. It’s only on the TVs that videos won’t play smoothly when subtitles are enabled.
The PMS itself does not appear to be struggling for CPU, RAM or network bandwidth (upload). It’s remote, but can do 600Mbps up and 900Mbps down. LG TV and Nvidia shield on one ISP. Samsung TV on another, both located within 20 miles of the PMS. PMP is on the same network as the PMS. TVs are on wifi and close to the routers as the 100Mbit NICs in them create problems with high bitrate 4K content. No issues before with 4K on wifi.
Before I go digging into debug logs, is this a known issue at all? Also is there a secure way to provide logs without IP addresses in?
Thanks.
