Stuttering with SRT subtitles on 4k video files on XBox Series X

Hi, I have always had problems with stuttering when I use SRT subtitles on my series X (wired ethernet). My plex media server (v1.24.5.5173) is running as a XigmaNAS extension. I don’t think the server is the problem because I can play the same video files just fine with a 2019 Macbook Pro (wifi), iPhone 12 (wifi) and Sony Bravia with Android TV (wired ethernet) and Amazon FireStick 4k (wifi).

My Plex dashboard shows direct play when this is happening - here is an example.

I browsed some previous posts on this topic, and don’t see any definitive answer to this problem, but please point it out if I missed anything.

I also looked up the Plex 4k FAQ and couldn’t find anything that stands out; the section on subtitles just mentions that the client must support direct-play with the subtitle format, which I believe the series X should handle with SRT.

Without the SRT file the movie plays out well?
I’m having troubles also with 4k movies, but in my case I didn’t associate the issue with the subtitles.

I have made a test with same movie that you are using.
I have tested with a embeded SRT file, and I’ve got the video/audio stuttering as you describe.

But with an external SRT file, it plays smoothly (I’ve tried for 10 minutes :slight_smile: ).
Can you test it with an external SRT file?
