Problem: After 8.27.2.29938 I cannot view 4k personal media, dashboard says its direct playing but I get the spinning orange circle on client while hearing the audio perfectly in the background.
I have tested this and have actually turned off the auto update on my Chromecast 2020/Sabrina/CCGTV and Shield devices. I have personal media linked into my Plex server and dump phone media (from Mobile 1 and Mobile 2) to the server.
All devices using Mobile 1’s version of the app can play the media perfectly, and there is no problem.
Mobile 2 which I use to test if a fix has been rolled out… does not.
Some additional information: I imported all videos and photos as “Photo Media” since the videos show up there anyways and it was kind of weird having them duplicate in two places and double scan everything.
Did something change? I was going to wait to see if it was just something missed in a rollout or two. But it seems maybe Plex isn’t aware of the issue? This is a pretty big thing for me because my toddler loves to watch the family videos we record and this was a perfect solution for playlisting, shuffling, and offloading.
