I’m using a hdhomerun tuner with Live TV/DVR.
This latest app release has a regression where you are unable to seek while watching an in progress DVR recording, both via fast forward/rewind buttons and dragging the timeline.
It would be nice to get watch live/start from beginning options back in the app too.
This is a bug in IOS too… Any in-progress DVR recording will always start at the beginning and there is no real way to reposition the program to “live”
I’m able to seek now, but the timeline is still mostly useless. It only stays between like 4-7 minutes and if you try to seek beyond that, it just freezes and never loads. Fast forward and rewind buttons are also gone when the recording is still in progress.
For example, I’m recording a sporting event and the game is an hour in with an hour remaining (so the recording is still in progress). If I try to immediately seek to 45 minutes in, it just hangs. I have to jump like 3 minutes at a time and the timeline never accurately represents where I am in the recording because it’s constantly “jumping back”. I could move the timeline in those 3-4 minute increments and get to 45 minutes in, but the timeline will always show I’m like 5 minutes into the 1 hour recording
I’ve got the same thing happening with my Samsung S24Ultra on Plex version 2026.11.0.
I can only watch from the beginning when DVR recording is ongoing.
The strange thing to me is that I have other Android devices (Onn 4k Plus, TCL/Roku TV, Amazon Fire Max11, Nvidia Shield TV) that have no issues seeking or playing live.
It’s really frustrating when I’m not home, set a program to record live but can’t open up Plex on my phone to check in on a game or whatever.
2026.12.0 just fails to play most of the time now. It tries to start playing from the start and sometimes it does, others it just never starts playing and I have to back out and try again. Trying to fast forward at all just causes it to freeze however.
