For the past few days I have been observing duplicate scrobbles on Last.fm, but only when playing songs via Tidal. When listening to a song from my local collection, I only scrobble once, but on Tidal I get two scrobbles for the same song consistently.
These scrobbles occur at two consistent, distinct moments - once halfway through the song, and then again at the end of the song.
This has only happened via the web player; I have run the same test on the same Tidal track via Plexamp and only scrobbled once (halfway through the song).
One important, but relevant, point is that I have two servers connected to my account, and are run on separate hosts. Server A hosts all my Movie & TV content, and Server B hosts all of my Music content.
If I leave Server A running and temporarily shut down Server B, only one scrobble is produced at the end of the song.
Same for vice versa - if I shut down Server A and leave Server B running, only one scrobble is produced at the end of the song.
If I start up both servers again, the duplicate scrobbling behaviour happens again.
As such it would appear that running more than one server produces multiple scrobbles when listening to music via Tidal.
Happy to provide logs on either server as necessary. I’ve tried a few possible fixes like disabling state sync on my account, but it doesn’t appear to have had any effect.
