I’ve set up Live TV & DVR in Plex with xTeVe, and the channels works properly on iOS and Android TV, but always report errors on Mac, There are three error cases:
- This live TV session has ended. (Unable to play)
- Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna. (Unable to play)
- An unknown error occurred (4294967279), Error code: 4294967279. (Press Retry and it will play properly)
There is also a case where error 3 is reported first, followed by error 1 or 2. (Unable to play)
But these channels plays fine on iOS and Android TV, only on macOS it will report errors, what’s the reason? Especially in the third case, the error has been reported but after retrying it can be played normally again, It seems to be a BUG. I’ve seen others report this problem in the forum for a long time now, and it still hasn’t been fixed.
Similar problems are found with HTPC for Mac. Some channels can play, some channels will report the following two errors.
And when I select a channel and press Play, it often does not respond and does not switch to the new channel, I need to click on the program directly to play the channel.
To sum up, all the channels reported with errors are playing normally on iOS and Android TV, which means there is no problem with these channels themselves, it is the macOS client’s problem, hope you guys check what the problem is and fix it.
By the way, I noticed that the new version of HTPC has fixed the BUG I reported with the display of Chinese content, thanks a lot.
