[BUG?] Manual library refreshes caused an out of memory status and Plex crash

Server Version#: 1.40.0.7775
Player Version#: N/A

I’ve been trying to determine while my server will randomly crash out. I was doing manual library scans, followed by manual metadata refreshes, followed by database cleanup and emptying trash to see if I could clean up my database.

It appears as though one of these processes is suffering from a memory leak. Error messages started showing in the console that it was out of memory, followed by a Plex crash, and ultimate system instability. Not knowing much about the individual processes, I’m guessing that it is a memory leak. I’ve got 128GB of system RAM with 16GB dedicated to a HyperV system. Plex is running bare metal on Server 2022.

Attaching logs just after system reboot.

Bump? @ChuckPa ?

In the absence of anyone else responding it might be related to lyrics. See this comment and the thread within PMS Beta 1.40.0.7775 on Windows crashes every time I refresh metadata - #11 by drzoidberg33

Thank you, dokuro, for the link to this issue. I’ll disable lyrics on my music library and see if that helps.

No need to disable anything, just update to the newest beta, there was an issue with the previous beta you’re on which could result in runaway memory usage with certain music tracks.
