[Bug] marking as played removes from collection

I have created collections through PMS.

I noticed if I mark the item as watched/played through Plex for Android TV, it will remove the collection tag(s) that were already set.

Was the collection built from a filter, which included the playback status?

I added all my items either through the search > add to, or i added them through the Library view, but i can’t say for certain if a filter was set when I added them from the Library view page.

  1. when you look at the Collection field in the web app, is it “locked” (orange padlock icon)?
  2. does the same happen if you mark an item as “played” with the web app?
  3. are your media stored inside the Plex server machine or someplace else? If not inside the server, do you have “Empty trash automatically after every scan” disabled? You should.

I am going to try and enable the lock icon for each item, see if that prevents the collection from being removed after watching.

That’s a problem. It means that the contents of the collection field can change at any time.

Are your media stored inside the server? If not, I urge you to disable this setting. Otherwise you may experience suddenly changing metadata again and again.

Yes, the media is locally stored.

I gave a quick test of a locked collection and marking as watched/unwatched did not remove the collection tag.
