Same problem here with flathub version.
No settings can be saved with versions 1.60 and 1.61. It’s really annoying since I can’t even activate audio pass-through.

Plex support, can you acknowledge please?

Same problem here… everytime I save a setting, the button just keeps spinning.
This line shows up in the log:

ERROR - [Web] player.forwardCacheSize of type float has an invalid value: "157286400"

Changing or removing the player.forwardCacheSize in plex.ini doesn’t work either… it just returns.

Running Plex Deskop from flathub. Version 1.61.1.3432-3929cb60.
Running on KDE Neon(Ubuntu 22.04 base) and wayland desktop.

Still not working on 1.62.2.

Don’t think anyone from Plex is listening

I am also experiencing this bug, if devs and take a look it would be great, thank you. Earlier I created a thread here: Unable to Save Changes when "Automatically Sign In" is checked

Plex was just updated via flathub on my computer.
Aaaaaand, it’s still not working correctly.

Plex-desktop just hit v1.63.3 on flathub and the spinning circle problem is still present.
It would be nice:

  • to see someone on Plex’s staff acknowledge our problem,
  • to have a way of debugging this ourselves.

On the rant side, I’d like to see more problem-solving and less free-movies-new-partnership…

New version on flathub (v1.64.2.3546).
As usual, I performed a settings reset (settings → debug) and I’m now able to save settings !
Hurrah !

Still can’t save settings here on that version, where do you fine this Debug option you mention?

In plex-desktop:
→ click on the settings wrench (top right corner)
→ in the settings list on the left, under the Plex For Linux section, you have five items:
General
Quality
Debug
Player
Downloads
→ Red button reading Restore Defaults

Hmm weird, I only have:

I’ll try a reinstall…

Spinning circle when saving and no debug option, maybe it’s possible there is no write permissions?

thanks this did it for me

I’m having the same or similar problem with Linux Player 1.65.1 snap on both Ubuntu 18.04 and 22.04. The Restore Defaults trick isn’t really a solution for me. Once the app is restarted, the spinning Save Changes problem comes back again (i.e. changes never committed).

One of these Ubuntu systems requires the player be set to Video Playback Quality = Low Quality for smooth playback of LiveTV, rather than Normal default. The problem is the restore defaults removes all the select options from the Video Playback Quality select field.

When I restart the app, the quality options are back but I cannot change value from Normal default because the spinning Save won’t commit changes again!

Update: Resetting to default Settings did resolve the issue. Thanks for tip. :+1:

While it’s not ideal as it will destroy your custom settings but worth it imo instead of entering code everytime.
