BUG: Plex Player crashes and restarts Samsung TV UA55HU8500

Server Version#: 1.13.4.5271-200287a06
Player Version#: 2.012

Hi all,

Notice the first time occurrence today. Run Plex Player through Samsung SmartHub, player would buffer (always had buffing issues with certain videos, I gave up). It buffs but still plays decently. I turned off the TV and came back a few hours later and tried to resume playback through the player. The player buffs, and then after ~30 seconds of playback, all the sudden the TV would turn off and turn back on. This happened a few times. I have restarted the TV, Router, and NAS and it yielded similar errors no matter whether I have started from the beginning of the video, resume where i left off (new point), or attempted to navigate to a different time in the video.

I do have its internal subtitles on, and have noticed that this has previously caused some buffering issues in other videos. Unsure if this is a cause. The Plex Server seems fine and there aren’t any issues from mobile or tablets. (Androids)

Assistance would be greatly appreciated. Specs below.

Connection from NAS to TV is through 5G WiFi Router.
TV: UA55HU8500 with latest software T-NT123UUACB-1290.0, BT-S (or simply as 1290), Samsung SmartHub version 6.174
Plex Media Server: 1.13.4.5271-200287a06
Plex Player (TV): 2.012
NAS - Synology ds418play
WiFI Router: ASUS DSL-AC3100 - Firmware Version:[v1.10.05 build502] - latest.

Yeah, other People reporting too, I also have it , with specific mkv files…
I turn on transcoding for those episodes, then it works… Allthough I prefer direct play

I have noticed that my media server is out of date, and updated that.
If its EOL, then there’s nothing much I can do about the player on the tv. Which is a bit annoying, as something bugged out in an update somewhere…

i have PMS 1.18.9 , and my tv crashes too

See my post. HERE

ah so it is the subtitles…
