It started happening after i upgraded to the latest server release.
Please post actual version numbers.
Also, please post the model year of Samsung.

my tv is a TV UE49KU6510, with plex for samsung 4.5.1 installed…
server is 1.18.1.1973-0f4abfbcc on a NAS DS918+ Synology
Problem seems to be related with Hardware transcoding, when i disable hardware transcoding it’s working again but my cpu is used between 40% and 90% for one transcoding (server CPU is INTEL Celeron J3455 with 8Gb ram).
So the only workaround for me ATM is disabling HW transcoding…
Hope it will be fixed in the next server version.
from any client i use, my ipad or roku tv or chromecast or samsung tizen tv app it crashes, version number is 1.18.1.1973 and hardware accelerated transcoding was enabled it would keeo crashing, now i have disabled it and it is not crashing anymore.
Yepp, it don’t crash on the Pc app but on the Smart Tvs the display is completely messed up (green lines and grey dots everywhere you can’t discern an image) the sound is fine, very weird, it looks like when you try to read x264 or x265 files on uncompatible hardware…
This sounds like a completely different issue (unless you’re saying that the Plex Media Server also crashes)? If PMS isn’t crashing, please start a new thread here: https://forums.plex.tv/c/plex-players/smart-tvs and include the following information:
Plex Server Media version.
Samsung model and year or Tizen version.
Plex app version.
It’s impossible to help otherwise.
