PMS is on a mac mini, macOS Sierra. Current Version 1.5.5.3634 (but all prior versions were affected too, at least as far back as v1.0)
How you can reproduce the bug:
- When creating a new library, select Movies as the library type
- Add media location
- Specify Scanner as “Plex Movie Scanner” and as Agent “Personal Media” and complete creation of the library
- Once created, you will find that the created library is now a Home Videos library, and this can not be fixed.
According to the help pages and the descriptions of how to use our own metadata contained in mp4 files, we should use the Personal Media Agent. This works very well, with the exception of the described bug/error.
Until recently I didn’t really care because the Apple TV Plex Agent used to show the movie covers of home videos like it shows movie covers of movies. With one of the last updates that was corrected, and now the movie covers are not shown correctly, so the bug is a bit annoying.
It would be great if this could be fixed.
