Creating a new library:
Select type: Movies
Add folder
Select Agent: Personal Media
Click ‘Add Library’
The library is created, but instead of movie posters, it creates thumbnails from video. When I edit the library, I discover that the Library Type has been changed to “Other Videos.”
Agent: “Personal Media” is the definition of an “Other Videos” library.
Or the other way around: if you create an “Other Videos” library, you get a “Movie” library with the agent set to “Personal Media”.
Then it should either not be available if I’ve selected “Movies,” or it should tell me the Library Type will change if I select that agent. It shouldn’t just change my selection without telling me.
I have the same problem, and it makes me very angry, because in my entire library I have already downloaded the posters, art, fanart, disk, logo etc … plex does a double job taking up useless space, space that I already have in every single one folder.
Emby does a smarter job, it does not take up space in the main software folder by storing information from movies / TV series, etc. in infinite subfolders.
Please fix this problem …
On TV shows it seems to work, but on movies it doesn’t.
I am having a similar problem, it is easy to replicate too.
I go to libraries → add new library → other videos → I add my folder, I change the settings to Plex Video Files and Personal Media … I add this library and it’s automatically changed to plex movies and starts scanning all my personal media and trying to add meta data to it. I have to first set it back to personal media then go through each and every video and remove the match; It happens literally every time I add a new library and it only stated happening with this most recent update. It’s quite annoying.
The same Problem too
I would like to change the type by myself - becouse all own pics from my movies were changed now in landscape format when plex changed it to “other videos”
I need the same preview like in “movies” - (Portrait ?)
Please change asap !
