There appears to be multiple threads of this being mentioned, but none that I have found appear to acknowledge the issue.
Problem
Media sync’d to Android phone (Google Pixe 4XL) not viewable by other Android clients (Lenovo Tab 10) on the same WLAN when Advertise As Server is checked off within the settings on the Android Phone.
Observations
From the client (Tab10), I tap the Hamburger Menu, then tap More. In the list, I can see the server (Pixel 4XL) listed as a choice, but no libraries populate under the server name header bar. Therefore, media sync’d to the Pixel “acting as a server” is not viewable by the Tab 10 client.
AC
- Ideally, we’d like to see the feature working properly where the sync’d libraries show up under the Server Name Header bar
- Optionally, remove the option from the Android app so there is no longer confusion about whether or not this feature should work or not
