Bug: When playing back files via direct play that contain both Dolby Vision and HDR10, the screen is completely black. Audio and subtitles work. When transcoding is used, video returns. Files that contain DV but not HDR10 work fine, it’s only the files that contain both DV + HDR10 that are problematic.
I’m seeing similar on 2015.15.0. It affects files with Dolby Vision profile 07.06 and HDR10. Sound plays but there’s just a black screen with no video. The video does appear when transcoding.
Files with Dolby Vision profile 08.06 and HDR10 appear to correctly fallback to HDR10. Files with profile 05.06 (no HDR10) show video but the colours are off, which is to be expected on my S23.
I’m trying to play a 4K video (DoVi/HDR10 with TrueHD 7.1 audio). This worked fine on the previous version of the Plex mobile app, but after updating to the latest release (v2025.15.0), I now get a black screen with audio playing in the background.
@BigWheel (apologies, yours was the first name that came to mind) is this something that Plex is aware of? If so, is it actively being looked at or on a list to be looked at?
