Hi.
I’ve tryed to Analyze season 3 from Dark (Dark.S03.1080p.NF.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.x264-NTG), but looking on dashboard activity and console logs I’ve seen most errors and the analysis never ended, the process
takes for ever.

Other TV Series like Homeland (Homeland.S03.1080p.Bluray.DD5.1.x264-EbP) or Punisher (Marvels.The.Punisher.S01.1080p.NF.WEB-DL.DD5.1.x264-NTb) has been succesuful analyzed and the SKIP INTRO works perfect.

You mount your sda inside /tmp? Sounds weird.

“flagged as inappropriate” ok …
I was pointing out a possible reason for the input/output error
a) the transcoder should not default to /tmp (anymore, since the fix iirc)
b) tmp is often space limited, which will result in i/o errors, maybe gets wiped when space is full, depending on the distro
c) tmp is not a default mountpoint for anything, so something has been edited somewhere, maybe incorrectly

Do these files transcode ok during playback ?

The EasyAudioEncoder is failing just after launch

Didn’t mount anything. That’s all Netgear’s work on R9000 router.

Hi @sa2000.

Can’t test it with transcoding because the Netgear R9000 it’s weak in terms of performance and cannot handle a file that big for transcoding. I always Direct Play all files so I have no problems that way.

On the Netgear R9000, the binaries go here
/tmp/plexmediaserver/xxxxx version number of PMS xxxxx
e.g.
/tmp/plexmediaserver/1.19.4.2935-79e214ead/

and the data area goes here
/tmp/mnt/sda1/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/
The EasyAudioEncoder binary gets downloaded into the data area - so will need to establish if that mount has EXEC attribute and no NOEXEC

I’ve tested again, this time with transcoding scenario, and the console output seems to be the same. The web player can’t play. Looking on console or logs, there are same erros.
Same erros like the ones when I try to analyze the season with Skip Intro creation.

Anyway, I’ve installed Plex Server on my Windows Machine, and tried the same files to play and analyze, and everything works fine, no errors.

I guess this is a problem with Netgear R9000 Plex Server - 1.19.4.2935-79e214ead

My guess at the moment is that mount for this does not allow execution of binaries - only a guess at this stage
/tmp/mnt/sda1/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/

The device I understand is capable of Direct Streaming and Transcoding to 480p

Checked all important locations for permissions:
/mnt/sda1

All of them got rwx on all users. I even chmod-ed them again to be sure, even on child objects (for the sake of test).

I suspect there could be a problem with the codec library for this distribution.
There aren’t any problems with permissions.

Yes. The router can transcode some files. And the transcoding works sometimes, when EasyAudioEncoder isn’t needed. Please bear that in mind.

Changing permissions of EasyAudioEncoder file from rwxr-xr-x to rwx-rwx-rwx doesn’t resolve the issue.

Thanks for tip but this is not the case:

Current USB Device: USB1 , My Book 25EE , STORAGE , Total space: 3.6T , Free space: 246.4G

And the conversion happens at external drive at /mnt/sda1/pms-c3354a89-b8aa-4af1-a7d6-1d6c1456a2e9 not on internal routers memory.

The path is probably wrong

There is /tmp before the /mnt
