Note: There are other threads about this issue for Alexa, Roku, etc… but across all the users of my Plex there are about 10 different clients and they are all experiencing this exact same issue. I believe it’s worth another thread and, hopefully, the Plex devs can help diagnose and troubleshoot.
I have been a Plex user since it was new and have recently noticed that sometimes when I try to resume, rewind or fast forward it breaks the stream. I first noticed that sometimes when hitting resume at xx:xx it would start the media completely over. If I exited, it would still show my old progress and I could then say resume from xx:xx again. It would typically start from the beginning the first 2 or 3 times, then eventually it would actually resume.
To figure this out I would just hit play from beginning and try to fast forward, but that is also broken. When I start from the beginning as this is happening, I can’t fast forward. Sometimes the timeline jumps to, say, 10 minutes, but the media never fast forwards.
Now typically I would say it’s my setup, but this issue has been seen in the web player, plex media player app, apple tv, roku, fire stick, iPad app, etc… and it’s not just my devices but others’ as well.
Has anyone experienced this? It’s very strange and perplexing that over the last many, many years I have never had this experience and then all of a sudden every client for every user is experiencing the same thing.
