Server Version#: 1.18.3.2156-349e9837e
Player Version#: 7.26.0.1.14578
Since I updated the Plex Media Server to the last version I’m having weird glitches while playing some shows.
The screen is filled with a lot of tiny boxes but the audio and subtitles are working fine.
I feel like each boxes is displaying a frame of the video.
I encounter this issue from the Plex Player from the TV Shield and the Android Application. The Web player seems to be working fine.
Before the update the same videos were playing without any issue.
Any idea how to fix this new behavior ?
Are you running PMS on the Shield?
There is a problem with PMS on Intel CPUs. See this thread.
Are you seeing same? First post I’ve seen w/ the problem occurring on a Shield.
I do have the same issue!
The PMS is running on a Synology, the Shield is only used as a player.
If I understand I have an issue with the CPU driver of my Synology?
By the way, I downgraded the PMS version and it is working fine as before.
I prefer to wait for an optimized PMS version rather than play with the installed driver of my Synology.
Thanks for your reply!
Glad you have it working.
The problem is with a video driver supplied by Intel. It is needed to support the latest Intel CPUs. However, it broke things for other CPUs.
Plex is working with Intel to fix things. Hopefully they’ll have a fix soon.
Thank you for the information, it is good to know.
I suppose we just have to wait for Plex and Intel to resolve this issue then.
