[BUG] Some mp4 content causes Android Tv app to crash

Some mp4 encoded content is causing the app to crash. Generally seems to be TV content (no problems with movies so far, though all are mp4). Same mp4’s play fine on web player, iOS, and on android mobile app (plus in all non-plex apps). Files previously played fine. MKV versions of exactly the same content plays fine (but I need mp4 in my library for various reasons). I also tried remuxing working MKV to mp4 and mp4 causes crash. Also find some mp4 content that works will crash after 30-40 mins randomly. Resuming content works fine once app has relaunched.

I think I’m also experiencing this problem on Chromecast for Google TV. Until recently the player worked perfectly but now mid video plex will quit the video and restart.

sometimes it happens over and over, other times maybe once or twice a video

edit: have not confirmed that it doesn’t happen on mkv though - will report back if it happens there too

edit2: watched a 30 minute anime in mkv and no issue. everything else I watched today (mp4) had an issue at least once so semi confirmed I guess

Hmm, there is a possibility that the issue is down to the embedded artwork actually being a PNG rather than a JPG

Update: No that didn’t seem to help
