Plex Player crashing on video start

When starting some content (not all) the Plex app crashes and reboots. This doesn’t always happen with a given video. It might crash over and over when I try to start it, then I come back later in the day and it plays fine. I haven’t found a pattern, besides I have only had crashes on X.265 encoded videos (not sure if that is related or not).

I have attached the log from the Firestick after a crash. Any help would be appreciated.

I’m not positive, but it looks like your file has an embedded photo in it. I don’t believe that’s allowed with mp4 files. It’s possible the device is crashing due to that. If you are able to, try remuxing that file without the image and see if you get the same crash.

Ok. I will see if that makes a difference. If that was the problem, wouldn’t you think it would crash every time I tried to play a file with an embedded photo, no just sporadically?

It could be how the image is being embedded. We would need samples of a good and bad file to compare them.
