There is a bug with the new Plex player for subtitle management.
If we change the subtitles from a video being played, to switch from No to English for example, the change is good, but the selection remains on None. It is therefore no longer possible since playback, to put the subtitles on None. You have to stop the video, and do it from the media presentation screen.
Seeing the same thing on my Shield. With the new player I can turn on a subtitle, but can’t turn it off.
Going back to the old player for now.
My biggest problem with the new player is that you can’t search subtitles while media is being played. You can only pull subtitles from the media presentation screen. I reverted the player back because the old version allows you to click on the gear icon and select subtitles. Also, I don’t see the time of day the media will end. It was nice to see that a movie would be over at 4:15PM for example. I wish that they would add the ending time of day to the Windows Plex Media Player. As far as I can tell, you can click the time remaining at the bottom left and it will cycle between current running time and time remaining.
