TLDR; short tracks do not update their play history or track play count after being played. This is true for tracks shorter than approximately 1 minute.
I created a playlist “Never Listened” with filter [Track Plays] [is] [0] and noticed that after playing short tracks they are not removed from the playlist. If I go into the tracks’ play history, it is empty. Tracks longer than about 1 minute are removed as expected, and play history shows date and time last played.
I’ve tested this on Plexamp on mobile, Plex on Roku, and Plex web (on Chrome in Windows 11). No matter where I try to play my short tracks, their play history and play count stays empty.
I am running Plex on a Linux server.
I placed this in Plex Players > Mobile Devices because Plexamp is where I primarily listen to music.

Another edit: I turned off Sweet Fades and tried again, and the tracks did start counting plays, and adding entries to their play history. Strangely though, it appeared that if I navigated directly to a short track to play it, it would NOT, only if that track ended up playing in a sequence or playlist of other tracks.
