Today, I encountered a new “shortcoming” of the new experience app on my Android Samsung tablet.
On the home screen, I chose my main TV show library and got a library sorted by title with all watched & unwatched TV shows being visible.
My standard view of that library is: only unwatched shows and sorted by number of episodes (ascending).
So, I wanted to set up this view on the new app, changed the sorting… and now I only get empty shells of posters, no titles, and I can no longer enter that library. I force-closed the app, then restarted it again… but the view is still killing my access to that library - looks like frozen. I do no longer have the ability to change the sorting (not visible either) on that library. Other tabs like categories and recommendations still work and are responsive.
The view is fine on any classic experience app and on Plex web.
I can hardly bare to not receive help on this. It breaks my usage of Plex in one of my rooms completely.
Unwatched (you click it once to have the shows with the most unwatched episodes, click again to sort for the shows with the least unwatched episodes top-most).
Ah got it. Filter by unwatched, sorted by unwatched. Works ascending and descending for me. How many matches do you get? I have 106 and they all have a photo.
Do they all have the image when descending? I’m wondering if the item with the least number has a missing image and it’s breaking the rest when sorted ascending.
Home screen was working, so I chose the TV show library - only to get the same unresponsive, frame-only screen again. no scrolling possible, no clicking, no filter, no sorting… here’s how it looked:
I don’t want to talk about how inefficient the “recommended” tab looks like (only one row with six posters without scrolling). I don’t want to talk about the misaligned login screen.
I can no longer use my library using the one and only app for Android Mobile.
I don’t have any problem on my Samsung mobile phone (because I did not update that to the new experience) or any Android TV event (don’t want to take part in the beta test).
Can somebody please help? Can somebody from Plex acknowledge the issue and prioritize this. It effectively blocks me from using Plex each morning.
