Bug: TV show sorting algorithm

Hi,

PMS: 1.12.1.4885 (Windows)
Plex Web: 3.39.5

In a TV series libray, I am using Plex web to have a look at my “most current” and unfinished TV shows.

I am using a “collection” to get a record of all my shows that are currently "regularly updated and the latest series not finished (ie. not all episodes recorded yet). That collection is called “laufende Ausstrahlung”.

When showing ALL TV shows, sorted by “Last Episode Added”, I get the following results (which look okay since I know what I recorded and when I did record it):

The following TV shows that are shown on that screen are part of the collection “laufende Ausstrahlung”:

  • Büro der Legenden
  • Tatort
  • Die geheimen Akten der NASA
  • Scorpion
  • Marie Brand
  • Britannia
  • Liar
  • Bull
  • Tabula Rasa

So, when only viewing the collection “laufende Ausstrahlung” when sorted by “Last Episode Added”, one would expect the exact same order of these TV shows… but:

That is wrong… and the same “sorting bug” shows when using a custom filter:

The effect is the same on the online version via app.plex.tv (v3.41.1).

This is simply annoying. Please fix that.

Thank you

Is there anything I can do to support the support team?

Thanks for the report. I have another user that reported a similar situation and I haven’t been able to track down the problem. I did not consider the influence of the collections data. That might be the thing I’m missing.

Any news here?

Just updated my PMS to 1.13.2.5142 - which has Plex Web 3.53.6

And the problem persists… can somebody confirm that it is a recognized bug and that it is on the list “to be fixed”?

Thank you in advance…
