In the UK, we have what are called +1 channels, which are exact copies of other channels, but play exactly one hour later.
So we have Channel 4 and we have Channel 4+1, where the same programme will play at 9pm on Channel 4 and 10pm on Channel 4+1.
The problem is that this seems to confuse the Plex DVR Program Guide.
A +1 programme will show up in the “Starting Soon” section correctly, stating that it starts in 15 minutes.
When you click on it, it says that the programme has 15 minutes left to run, and seems to display information about the Channel 4 programme instead. If you opt to record the programme, you will just get the last 15 minutes of the Channel 4 version. If you unclick “Allow partial airings” it will not record anything.
Anyone else experienced this?
This will be of no help whatsoever, but as I was setting up DVR I had a feeling these channels would cause nothing but trouble and disabled them.
When you’ve got a DVR the +1 channels really serve little purpose unless you’re booking a recording late… which with series link should only ever happen the first time!
You make a good point Kiniki. But it would still be good to be fixed, as I can see me recording partial programmes when I’m thinking I’m recording the full +1 episode.
The other use for the +1 channels is if you want to record more than the number of tuners at a certain time.
I am still facing this problem (when I try to record a program it consistently records to the +1 schedule, but seems to record from the standard channel so you miss the 1st hour of the show!). Has anyone found a solution other than disabling the +1 channels?
Update
I just worked out the cause of my problem (but leaving it here incase anyone else has the same issue). With ITV3 in the UK, there is no corresponding entry in the drop down when configuring the channels - so it had defaulted to ITV3+1 - hence the DVR thinks that it is recording ITV3, but it is pointing to ITV3+1 instead!
