Should +1 Channels have programmes marked as "New"?

So I have a recording set, no specific channel or time set in the recording options, but the DVR wants to record the same programme on +1. Now this will probably record because when it starts due to the padding it won’t be in my library.

Technically, the programme on +1 channel isn’t a “New” programme as it’s already aired an hour earlier.

I don’t want to limit by channel or air time because there is one programme in particular that Plex has automatically decided to record at a later date on a different channel (4seven instead of Channel 4) due to clashes. So limiting this would then I miss the recording completely.

Is this an EPG issue and therefore all “New” tags on +1 channels needs removing. @sa2000 I believe you may be able to help as you’ve dealt with previous EPG issues.

“New” means new for that channel, so a +1 channel still has “new” episodes.j

[edit] if you set to record “new” and the the DVR cannot record on the standard channel you would want it to pick up the episode on the +1 channel instead.

OK - and looking into this further. There is a programme I’ve got set to record which is showing New and also on the +1 channel it’s marked as “New” but not set to record. So, why does this happen to certain programmes?

But not for this one…

Both channels (ITV and Channel 4) have +1 channels but it’s inconsistent approach.
