[BUG] Video ending prematurely on Roku

In my case, it happens whenever the roku player seeks through a transcoded video to a position not very near the end of the video (e.g. resuming playback from a stored position or skipping opening credits). Playing uninterrupted start to finish and seeking “close enough” to the end of the item show no issue.

Some people say that adjusting transcoder quality and/or the transcoder buffer size improve/fix it; others like me still have the issue. Threads on this start from Nov 2019; no acknowledgement from Plex–

Plex cutting off before the end of an episode

I am having this issue as well, but it only seems to happen when I resume an episode. Every other subsequent episode played right after works fine. Very strange. Using (2) Roku Ultras

[BUG] TV episodes stop playing 2 minutes before end of episode

For a couple of months about 2 or 3 minutes after each live TV broadcast, the Nvidia Shield client just freezes, have to exit the show, then exit the grid, then go back in to watch live TV. I finally just got tired of walking into the den to see a frozen screen and having to jump through those hoops. TV Shows Ending about 3 minutes early on some players

@dokuro I’m just curious, did it actually “fix” the problem, or just reduce the cutoff to a point where it doesn’t interfere with what you watch (e.g. only cuts off credits)? I did notice that the amount of time remaining in an episode when plex cuts off was slightly less with a shorter buffer, but neither changing the buffer length nor the transcoder quality actually fixed anything for me.
