After hitting pause during video playback, and then resuming playing, the video remains paused while the audio resumes immediately as expected. The video doesn’t resume until 3-5 seconds later, at which time it is once again in sync with the audio. This means you have to rewind to see what you missed.
There may be some timing considerations here. I often pause playback during a movie’s credits and resume fairly quickly, and each time I experience the delay. But I’ve also paused in the middle of a video and resumed a minute or more later, and both video and audio resume correctly. Perhaps the issue is only with short pauses, or only near the end of playback (which would make for a strange bug).
Running the latest server beta (Windows) and player beta (Shield TV).
For me it happens consistently when I pause near the end of a video. I tend to do this when credits roll and I pause to read them thoroughly. The first time I pause, I experience the delay in video playback as I originally reported. I think this happens all the time. But subsequent pauses (e.g., after another screen or two of credits) don’t always result in a delay. At some point, further pauses don’t result in any delay.
I don’t have as strong a sense about this happening earlier during video playback, say, in the middle of a movie. I need to test that some more, but I can say for sure every time near the end of a video when I first hit pause.
Exact same issue for the past couple of months, happens near constantly when resuming a previously playing video on Android (mobile), especially when it’s been minimized and opened again.
I need to submit some logs but have been busy, and generally unfamiliar with how to do that for the Shield. I expect to get to it tomorrow. The Shield is the only Android platform I have, but if you’re seeing the same behavior on other Android platforms, I encourage you to submit logs as well.
I haven’t gotten around to submitting logs yet but will try tonight. I can confirm the playback delay after pause occurs no matter where I pause the video. When I first submitted the report I was only seeing the problem when pausing near the end of a video (e.g., during credits). But it happens everywhere now.
