Your watchlist and Discover on the Apple TV and iPhone do not show your home server anymore like it used too. Is this by design? (Hope not)
Seems to be working perfectly fine on my setup (latest test flight version of Plex for iOS and tvOS; latest PMS beta).
Are all your apps and server signed into the same account and using the current-generation Plex agents? Items in question are properly matched?
Are you using the same account on both clients?
I’m wondering because it says „Activity by You“ in Plex Web but „Activity by DJ“ in the iOS app.
I only have one account as far as I am aware. Maybe one UI shows the username and one shows the custom name? Both have the same icon.
You were right… the iOS client is referring to my own activities with my user name while Plex Web uses the term „You“.
Is your local library fully accessible from within the iOS app while you’re browsing the Discover section?
Yes. I can actively play anything on my server, just under discover and watchlist my server is not shown.
I am having this same issue, but it’s happening to my users as well. My father’s Roku just started doing this after the latest update which moved the Watchlist from a tab at the top of the screen to a menu item in the left menu. Clicking an item in the Watchlist (which I KNOW is on my server) now just shows external/third-party streaming services.
I just tested this and narrowed it down to the most recent app update on Apple TV. I can’t say for sure which version I was previously on, but the Watchlist was a tab at the top of the screen and I could see my server as a source for each item in my Watchlist. I went to the Apple TV App Store, saw an update for Plex, and updated it to version 8.11. Upon opening Plex, the Watchlist was moved from a tab at the top to a menu bar item. Inside my Watchlist, my server is no longer listed as a source, only other streaming services show up.
My server is up to date as well. The Watchlist works just fine in Plex Web.
My Apple TV 4K with latest beta won’t show local content under Watchlist (before it was split into Discover and Watchlist and now with seperate headings). It shows a movie / TV Show which I have locally and it says no streaming services available or streaming services available, but not my local content. I have enabled and disabled streaming services and have even enabled all of them. Sometimes the local content comes back when I do that, but if I go out of the Watchlist and back into it again the local content has gone. That with the no audio problem going from one tv ep. to the next. The Watchlist works on ever device I have except the Apple TV. Also no Share with Friends available on Apple TV. It is becoming very frustrating.
Further to the above, the local content in the watchlist has now disappeared from my iPhone app as well after the latest Plex app update.
same, my friends are seeing it too. Any update/acknowledgement from Plex?
I noticed this on the latest Apple TV Plex beta update. Maybe this has something to do with the problem?
I did have one library excluded, but even after I changed the settings to include that library and then tried deleting that library from the server, still nothing is working for local content from the watchlist.
Also when I go into a movie/tv show I want to add to the watchlist on the Apple TV, there is no option to add to the Watchlist on the screen?
Also refreshed the libraries and still nothing.
@tom80H , any luck reproducing it, looks like multiple people are seeing it on all Apple Products.
Does this have anything to do with Discover Credits? I noticed that that view of actors/actresses only works from the Discover section and wondering if maybe that implementation further segregated the two, kind of like how poster art is different in that section.
I hope it’s addressed, all my friends said they can’t play movies from the watchlists they are curating now.
Nothing that I’m aware of at the moment.
My own server is showing up alright as a source in the Where to watch
hub on all clients (incl. the Apple TV).
Just tried to access Nicholas Cage that Plex featured in Discover Credits and it doesn’t work for him on Apple TV?
It works from the Watchlist only, but does not show local content on latest beta release.
Here is another example:
Again, this is only impacting Apple TV and iOS products for me. Browser works fine, Roku works fine for me and android tv works fine. To clarify photo 2, I searched for it, it’s not coming from the watchlist.
Having the same issue, but not limited to iOS and/or local servers. It’s very random. Web works fine. Shield on home server with remote Plex server doesn’t. Friends android phone Plex client works. Toggling wifi seems to show different results, moreso with wifi off. But with wifi on, all results show up via browser, not full client. Friend doesn’t seem server with wifi on or off in client but does via browser.
