Bug with latest update of Plex Media Player on Windows

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: Latest (Just updated)
Hello
So yea, since I downloaded the update for the latest plex media player on windows
I encountered tons of bugs, it’s impossible for me to browse my server through the player…

First of all, when I click on a library, I’m brought back immediatly to the home page
Secondly, on my admin account, when I check settings through PMP, I’m not allowed to do admin stuff
Only regular users stuff…
Thirdly, tje home button doesn’t work anymore when I’m in settings…
I get a page saying “No soup for you, You do not have access to this server”

So please, can you release a new update and fix this please?
Thanks

Now I just can’t do anything
when I log in my account, I’m automatically sent to that “No soup for you” page
I can’T do ■■■■ now… a new update please?

I’m also having the same issue. I updated the Player today to version 3.83.1. I’m on Windows 7 64-bit. Clicking on any library on the left or anything on the recently added list seems like its going to send me to the movie’s details page, but just sticks me back in the home page. Clicking on the Status or Home buttons tell me that I don’t have access to my server.

I’ve tried

  1. Uninstalling and Reinstalling the player.
  2. Going to the server web app and removing my pc from the devices list and signing back in.
  3. Signing out within the Media Player and signing back in to my account.

All failed and produce the same result of not being able to navigate the main past the home page.

Not sure what to do now.

Thanks for any help available!

I upgraded today (win 10 64bit) and everything is working just like it should.

You guys had me worried because I didn’t check anything in PMP after I upgraded earlier today.

Did you start PMP immediately after the update?
Close it and restart it, please.

Updated also to v3.83.1 today (Win 10 64bit).

Most of the time I can’t choose any video quality in the Playback settings anymore when playing a file. When playing a file PMP transcodes it to a lower quality even though in the Play Media Player Quality settings “Maximum” is selected and I can change this since the playback settings don’t let me choose anymore…
Testing with Chrome anything works fine and I can choose the video quality when playing back a file.

Just reinstalled PMP: same problem :frowning: Can’t use it anymore if I don’t want to watch stuff in ■■■■■■ quality

edit:
Further testing: When switching to TV mode I can choose different video quality settings. The best one I can select there is the one I set as maximum in my PMS for remote streaming. Is it possible that my PMS things that I’m remote streaming wit PMP which actually I’m not? Doesn’t really explain why I can’t choose any video quality setting in PMP when not using TV mode but explains the ■■■■■■ quality it auto selects.

Hi
I did restart it, and after a couple of restart, I just get the “No soup for you” page from teh start
Can’t do anything now
I’m currently using the PMP from Microsoft Store while waitting for an update

huh weird… Switching to TV layout and coming back seem to have fixed everything
Can someone else with that bug try this too?

nevermind, the bug came back, I can’t browse my server at all :frowning:

I am having all these issues too. So, I upgraded PMS to beta, I think, Version 1.15.0.647 and downgraded PMP Win10 to 2.25.0.940. And now it seems to work. The most recent Win10 PMP seems to be my problem. “No soup for you” is quite scary! But the “unclickable” and unselectable libraries on left page, stuck on home page, were REALLY annoying.

Rolling back to 2.25 worked like a charm! Everything is working great again. Going to just hold off on updating until things get sorted out. Thanks for the idea.

I’m having the same issues as you…can you tell me how you were able to downgrade to 2.25? I can find the install file from some non-plex sources, but is there an “official” way to downgrade?

Thanks

I have the same issue. Just updated and hell broke out

Where did you get the installation file / how did you roll back?

No official way I know of. I keep a few “old” install .exe’s in the downloads folder of PMP and PMS.

I recently upgraded the PMP as well and got the “No Soup” message and not able to see the PMS. I signed out of the account on the PMP and logged back in which took me to the web browser to sign in and it fixed it. I was able to see my server again.

That solved it. Just logged out of the Media Player. Logged back in and everything is fine again. What a happy day!!

Issue returns after tuning PMP off and on.
Loggin out and back in is just a workaround.

Same problem here.

I have two servers with identical content on and when running the app on either one I am only able to see the content of the other server, not the content on the server it is running on.

If I access Plex through the web browser on either server, both servers are accessible.

This appears to be an issue with “Home Users” on my systems as if I log in with the main plex account all servers show without issue.

I installed PMP 1.25, but still get the problem, perhaps it auto-updated?
Anyway, we really need a patch…
