BUGS: Auto-Play, Shuffle, Navigation

I’ve noticed the following bugs continuing through the last few app / server versions:

Currently running tvOS software version - 17 -not dependent

  1. Shuffle stops shuffling if AppleTV goes to standby or screensaver.
    Start a series on shuffle, allow to play and app will continue shuffle properly with auto-play. Pause an episode until device screensaver comes on and/or power off AppleTV. Return to app and continue series from Home. App will continue where episode was but once episode is over auto-play will resume future episodes sequentially from that episode instead of continue shuffling.

  2. Auto-Play preemptive select bug. -
    When auto-play is queuing the next episode there is a 15second countdown. If you press select during this countdown the selected episode will only play for the remaining number of seconds in the timer, then immediately skip to a new episode. IE You’re watching season 1x1 of a show. At the end auto-play is queuing 1x2 with say 10seconds remaining and you press select to start playing the episode immediately. 1x2 will play for 10seconds then immediately skip to 1x3. Note: Issue happens on shuffle also, episodes playing in sequence is not a dependency and reming time integer is not a factor; whether there be 13, 10, 8, 3 seconds whatever amount of time was left in the countdown the episode will play that long before skipping.

  3. Player sometimes won’t allow menu access on Media Library.
    After AppleTV times out and goes to screensaver, when going back into the app and selecting a media library you cannot move up to the menu (Recommeded, Library, Categories). You must force close the app and relaunch to restore navigation

Also seeing some Auto-Play issues on TvOS 17, mostly Auto-Play switches to black screen and hangs.

Same issues, autoplay both hanging and requiring manual intervention, and skipping episodes on its own as described above. As far as the other members of my household are concerned, Plex is broken and they’ve just stopped using it in favour of other streaming apps

Same thing happening here with the auto play going to a black screen as described.
Worked fine before the iOS 17 updates but since then nothing.
Checked and confirmed that works fine when watching from Other devices (Hisense TV version of Plex player or Mac & PC players) so not an issue server side by the looks of it.

Linking similar thread here also so we can follow both.

Also issue seems to be linked to the “new” player.
As discussed on a different thread. Went into Settings on Apple TV, Scrolled down to Advanced settings and Found the Use old Player setting, turned that ON and now playback is working the same as pre iOS/tvOS 17.

Hopefully the Devs can fix the issue properly soon.

Not sure using the old player is a good option since Library settings for new player may conflict with using old player
