I make playlists of short films, some of which have been organized in my TV folder, so multiple episodes of multiple shows will be in one playlist, mixed around. This used to work fine, with each episode and short film playing one after the other on auto-play, with no menu screens in between, just a quick spinning wheel over black and the next episode would instantly play (as long as you held down the remote and chose “Play.” If you didn’t hold down the remote, it would instead bring you to the landing page of the TV show and take you out of the Playlist menu).
I recently stayed at a friend’s house for a while who also has an AppleTV and I linked my plex account and watched a playlist, but the episodes would not play one after the other. Instead, the auto-play menu would come on and do a countdown for the next episode of the same series, disregarding whatever came next in the playlist. So for instance, let’s say I was watching S1940E02 of Popeye and the next item of the playlist was S1940E15 of Looney Tunes. Instead of instantly just playing the Looney Tunes episode, like I’d ordered it, a countdown screen appears about to play S1940E03 of Popeye! If I hit the menu button, I’m taken back to the playlist, so I can individually click on each title, but I cannot auto-play each item of the playlist (which is the purpose of a playlist!). When I got back to my house, MY Plex at home started to do the same thing!!
CURIOUSLY, this only happens in Playlists of episodes of TV shows. If I make a playlist using movies from my Movies folder, it plays seamlessly the way it should. WHAT HAPPENED??? How do I get it to go back to the way it was?? This affects new and old playlists with episodes of TV.
