The ui becomes really sluggy on “slower android tv soc’s” sure on a Shield it will be fluid.
This was already an “problem” with all 8.18 release.
New bug the new menu, when selected the whole row won’t move fluid. Part op de list moves and when in movement the rest follow sluggish. Sorry not the best description but there is clearly a lag in the middle of the row.
To be honest after 8.8.1, some new UI changes started. With more and more animations etc being added… the apps feels heavy for example TV’s with slower soc’s in them. ( Sony Android TV, Philips etc)
