But I have an internet connection

Server Version#:1.23.3.4707-6000
Player Version#:4.59.2
I’ve added new music to my server, and I try to scan library files. I get this:

An internet connection is required to scan library files. Please check this server’s connection and try again.

There is nothing wrong with my internet connection. I’m accessing and can play all the old library files, I just can’t scan for a new one. This happened before and I updated my server software, and that fixed it. But now the server is up to date.

So I did fix it by rebooting the server, but “really?” Why is this happening? How do I keep this from happening?

For Music Libraries scanning, we check for internet connectivity through dialogue with backend Plex servers - a recent bug has got fixed where the connection indicator was not being set correctly after a temporary network outage - see release note for Plex Media Server **1.24.2.4973 **

  • (Network) The server could get stuck in a state where it thinks there is no internet connectivity (#12635)
