I agree but at the same time tags from Picard and embedded tags in cds are very unreliable. So I take matters in my own hands and put the Composer in the Artist field and the Musicians/Performers in the Track Artist field. Takes me hours and days, using Metadatics. But I have to retag all the genres anyway to suit my tastes and logic. Not ideal it’s true but Metadatics is also very powerful and allows you to do giant batch manipulations and move all the tags from one field to another etc.
New to Plex. Been testing it for a few weeks now. Looks very mature BUT obviously not designed by people who are interesting in classical music or jazz because if they were, they would have added the “Composer” tag in the apps.
Kinda disappointing because most of it is very good. Plexamp is a nice iOS app and Plex Media Server seems very solid.
It’s been like that for years. I still wish they would add the composer tag. It seems such a minor thing, but it separates useful and useless in classical music.

Agreed. I think it is also required for a Jazz music.
