Bypassing relay for more juice

Player Version#8.22.0.27533(bdaff3f3) (on a Sony A80J)

My brother has a Plex server in San Francisco and I want to access it in the UK but we cannot bypass the relay in order to get streams higher than 2 MB/s for 4k streaming. I’m on Virgin media here so I have the Virgin media router in modem mode then a Netscape router connected to the router looking at a Google DNS server resolving ip addresses.

Anyone know why I can’t seem to connect directly to the server in San Fran?

Does your brother have the same issue when attempting to connect to his own server while outside his home network?
First steps of troubleshooting should be verifying his remote access setup. Indirect / relayed connections are usually due to a poor remote access configuration on the server end.
