Hey all, newbie here.
I have setup a Plex server on my QNAP device and I have connected it to my google account.
On each TV / Tablet / Mobile Phone etc I have connected via plex.tv/link
The issue is that when internet connectivity is not available the plex client will only show the last connected user’s (Profile) data and it is able to stream from my local qnap, but you cannot change the profile.
Is there another method of user creation / connection between local server and local clients?
Is there a way to toggle within the client’s user caching?

I actually wouldn’t be so sure about this one, since on each start-up of the app it checks for connectivity to the authentication servers they can build a local cache mechanism for users, and the local cache can be updated with TTL/expiry timestamp based upon last connection.
Also they can introduce the notion of local users for client → server authentication.
Since I already have my plex server installed locally, why can’t my local users authenticate against the server, and the server authenticate against the cloud server accordingly?
So my use-case is I have 100% of my data stored locally, I do not consume anything over the internet and the server + clients can be located for 30-60 days in locations where the internet might not be available or very limited. with the current situation, users are restricted to their last used device which is very limiting.
That would require local Plex servers to have access to everyone’s password, which is a huge BAD IDEA™ It is much easier to just turn off authentication for an approved local IP range IE 192.168.1.1/26, and post the server address. View history wont work but the server will
