Can access local media server

Server Version#:1.30.0.6442-5070ad484
Player Version#: 4.95.2
This morning I got a message that I was connected via relay. I popped into my server settings and turned off remote access and then tried to turn it back on…now I dont have access to my local server even though I still have access to my content via mobile device. How do I restore so I can see my settings/libraries?

(no, don’t click on that link)

Did something change in your local network? Like a new router for instance?

I put that in there and and still nothing. This is not like I have seen before. I did have to trade out my router this morning but I’m literally logging into the computer where the server resides.

Then use the IP for localhost: 127.0.0.1

Check the Windows network connection properties. Your network connection must be labeled as “Private”, not as “Public”.

I tried that too and and still showing me the same. This is weird… Any and all help is appreciated since I have a large library

Does that mean that you have now no internet connection
or
do you have a new router?

I had to replace my main router as it just stopped working completely. I have internet and my mobile device can see my libraries and I can view them but I have no access to the server portion of Plex nor can I see my libraries on my actual Plex server.

This most likely means that now all devices in your home network have new IP addresses.
You need to

  • stop Plex server from running using the task tray icon
  • reboot the Plex server machine
  • restart/reboot every other device in the local network as well
  • after the plex server has booted up again, check the Windows network connection properties. Your network connection must be labeled as “Private”, not as “Public”.

Now try to open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web in your browser, while sitting on the plex server machine.

Same issue… the only thing that I changed was the connect is now labeled as Private and not Public. I have a static IP on the server so… Not sure why I cant access it?

Did you stop and restart Plex server after changing this?

Does this static IP fit into the IP range that your new router is giving out per DHCP?

I did stop and restart Plex after I changed it to private and the static is within the scope and is identified as such.

I really appreciate the assistance that you are providing. Im scratching my head on this one!

I propose you try the “re-claiming your server” procedure, like this: Not authorized - You do not have access to this server - #4 by OttoKerner

So… just cut and paste and make this a .reg file and import? I dont want to screw this up.

I did a system restore and it seemed to have fixed it.
