Can an old Plex database backup be restored?

When my RAID rebuilt the Catalog was hosed. Tried to rebuild it with Disk Warrior (I was a Mac Tech), but after many tries to fix overlapped files, I just did a Nuke & Pave. My Plex server database lost all the files (when there were none to find), and now all my Playlists are empty, and “Recently Added Movies” order is wrong.

Can an older database be restored?

If you still have those old backups or access to the old PMS data folder you should be able to simply copy those back (while the server is stopped).
Not sure how this will work with “overlapped files” you’ve experienced?!

I’ve once restored an older version of my PMS via Time Machine. This gave me some hiccups because the restored build was using a new machine identifier, so Plex didn’t play nice. The “why am I locked out” procedure fixed that…

Never mind, got it! Thanks!

I have my PMS running on a Raspberry Pi and the sd card kept running out of space. I backed up the directory for PMS and did a clean install on a much larger sd card. But when I drop the old directory into the place of the new one it just stops working, i.e., the browser can’t find the server anymore. I set a static IP and named the server the same name. I don’t want to have to go through all the work of reorganizing my media and downloading the cover art and descriptions again. Anyone have any ideas?
