I don’t know if anyone can answer this or not. I’m having trouble finding an answer, but I would some information before I purchase an HDHomeRun unit.
I wondering if the HDHomeRun can be configured to record live TV to an attached USB drive AND record to a Plex server.
I’ve read that Plex DVR does not support pausing live TV, but HDHomeRun does.
I would like to record live sports on the HDHomeRun so that I can take advantage of pausing live sporting events, but I would also like to record TV and Movies using the Plex DVR feature.
Does anyone know if HDHomeRun can be configured to do both?
Why do you want it to record to a USB drive and on PLEX? Seems like you could run some post recording scripts to move to a USB drive if you really want to.
If you have the DVR setup you can pause live TV in PLEX.
I’ve used both the HDHR DVR and the PLEX DVR. I like the PLEX DVR better, you can set it up to record only certain teams if you want just like the HDHR DVR. However, on PLEX when it starts recording it doesn’t immediately go to your library but if you try to tune to whatever channel after recording starts it asks if you want to start at the beginning or go live. This is different from the HDHR DVR because as soon as something starts recording on the HDHR it immediately goes to recorded tv section of the app.
