Can I Change Plex Arabic Subtitle Font into Akhbar MT

iam using PMS on qnap nas ts269 pro running it using samsung plex app for smart tvs v 1.0.1501 .. finally i had managed to play arabic subtitles on plex using srt2utf8 plugin

despite of some arabic letters shown this way ا ل س لا م .. etc

as a bug also the plex subscene plugin doesnt work ..!

anyways i was asking if their is any way to change the font type which is already used in plex and replace it using this font Akhbar MT

Could you tell us the server version of your Plex and also if you are having the same issue using the web player?

I will assume that you are using windows for your sever.

It is weird that you have a problem with this version because in the next versions (Which is still available for Plex Pass users) they changed the font and this caused the issue of separate letters in all subtitles not some as you stated.

Your current font should be

DejaVuUniversal.ttf from the directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources"

The new font named  PlexFont-Regular.ttf under same folder(Currently for the Plex pass versions ONLY and caused the separate letters issue)

You should check which one you have.

Changing the font should be by putting the desired font in the same directory and naming it with the same name of the used font of whatever you find.

I am not sure that this will solve your problem and i didn't try to use a custom font before but what i tried and worked that i used the old Plex font for a new version after changing the font name.

Hi,

Any Idea how can I fix it for a Mac Server?

Thanks,

Sorry but I Dont have a Mac but I am sure it will be the same concept, search for the new font in the directory of Plex installation and make the required changes
