Thanks for this post. I turned off the News and Podcast functions on my server. I cannot stand when developers push features that users clearly donāt want. Funny thing is that I was just about to purchase a Plex Pass. Now, Iām not sure I want to make the commitment.
Iām already starting to look for other options. After all, I came to Plex as a way to host my content on my hardware, not have another Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime.
So now that New and Podcast are able to be hidden, great, but still have an entire section of āOnline Contentā (currently with "Plugins; Watch Later; Recommended) that I do not want on any of my screens.
Still need an option to Make It ALL (Online Content) Go Away.
If I wanted random crap on my screens, Iād not have dumped Cable TV all those years ago.
Becasue of this new feature, Iām seriously looking around for another solution to manage my personal media.
Iām using Plex to manage my media, not to watch news!
