I’m a Plex Newbie, exploring moving my music streamer app from Subsonic to Plex for its cleaner interface and advanced sharing capabilities. I’m extremely disappointed to see that I can’t share playlists (which seems bizarre), but am exploring replicating that functionality by filtering tracks by the MOOD tags (for a premium music library). That is, for every track, I would replace the MOOD values with the names of every playlist that track was a member of.
I’d much prefer to edit the MOOD tag on my mp3 music files directly rather than through Plex. Has anyone done that? If so, how? (I’m exploring one approach but haven’t gotten it to work yet)
No, that is not possible. The ‘mood’ is a feature of a Premium Music library and gets assigned automatically during the first scan of a track.
Premium Music library is a Plex Pass feature.
Thank you Otto and Beckfield! I’ll stop trying to edit the MOODs before inputting them into Plex. I don’t care about what moods Gracenote assigns to my files, as long as I can override them later on with my own values (which appears to be the case).
