Does anyone use Plex to listen to music on a Firestick? Mine stops playing every 2 or 3 songs. It often doesn’t update the screen to show the currently playing song. My web-browser at work lets me listen to music (from my Plex) indefinitely.
I didn’t take notes, but I want to say it at least sometimes (but not always) will play an album, but my current playlist is a disaster - 3 songs maximum.
Plex does a decent job for me with videos, but this is terrible.
I do. It’s definitely gotten worse at this. I used to use it an the time and without issue. I find it works better if I’m not using my phone using the stream option. If I select albums on the fire remote it’s usually ok and doesn’t crash out the app. I’d love to see plexamp on the firestick tbh.
And perhaps the most frustrating part is the inconsistency. Today, it’s playing straight through no problem. The Firestick went to sleep. Music kept playing. Woke it up and logged back into Plex – not even a blip.
It’s back to terrible. It plays two songs from my playlist and stops. It does not advance the “playing now” screen. If after every new song starts, I click the skip track button, the now playing screen updates and I get one more song.
Absolutely worthless for trying to listen to music or play background tunes for a party if I were having any.
Can anyone suggest an alternative? Or better yet, a fix?
having the same problem…i can stream from my plex server just fine anyplace else, but if i try to stream through the plex app on my (non-4K) fire stick it will only play a few songs and then it conks out of the whole app and i have to open it again, find the album i was listening to, and skip ahead to the song that had been playing.
i thought it might be a conflict with the fire stick’s screen saver, but even disabling that didn’t help.
