i can stream from my plex server just fine on other devices, but if i try to stream through the plex app on my (non-4K) fire stick it will only play a few songs and then it conks out of the whole app. i have to open the app again, find the album i was listening to again, and skip ahead to the song that had been playing.
i thought it might be a conflict with the fire stick’s screen saver, but even disabling that didn’t help.
FYI someone was asking the same question in another post that is titled “Can I listen to music using my Firestick 4k and Plex?” below…i was hoping a more concise title might help get an answer.
On my fire tv cube, the user experience isn’t great either. But at least not as bad as this:
when playing music, at first the fire tv screen saver comes on. Then after some more time the screen goes completely blank but at least the music keeps playing.
When I wake up the screen then, I’m out of the Plex app and painfully need to navigate back to the currently playing album.
So it seems there is some missing functionality in the Plex app to keep the system from going to sleep when it’s playing music.
yeah that is about what mine does, only the music stops shortly after the screen goes blank (it usually finishes the song it is on, but won’t play the next one).
i had hoped turning off the screen saver would fix the issue, but it still just ‘blanks out’ after a few songs, then stops.
