Firestick no longer playing music back correctly from Plex server

Issues.

  1. When playing an album it plays the first track but instead of playing the next track it starts playing the first track again.

  2. When playing a playlist it does move onto the next track but then stops before the third track. Also the screen does not update to reflect the actual track being played but remains showing info for the first track.

However my Android 14 phone with client version 10.26.0.2578 (6CC7EA1A) is working fine. This suggests problem is not at the server end but within the Firestick client software app itself.

Have tried clearing cache, clearing data and reinstalling the app but all to no avail.

All the software mentioned above have Feb 2025 release dates.

If anyone is experiencing similar issues and/or has a fix I would be grateful for any assistance.

A known issue the devs and mods are ignoring. The latest fire stick update broke playback of all media. Nothing can auto play
They’ve been actively ignoring it for a week

Thanks for letting me know problem is widespread failure on Firesticks. I’ll have to make do and use the Plex app hosted on my Samsung Smart TV for the time being which is not ideal as it doesn’t play back the music tracks seamlessly unlike my Android based phones and Firesticks.

Update of Firestick Plex Client to version 10.27.1.2743 (3CA2C244) appears to have now fixed the issue.
