So I just got around installing and configuring Plex on my computer with the following hardware (if that matters):
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU: Intel Core i7 4860HQ @ 2.40GHz RAM: 32,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 931MHz GPU: 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M (Gigabyte) + 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M (Gigabyte) SLI Enabled
And while I scanned my libraries without problem got them indexed and played locally just fine, whenever I want to cast to my Chromecast that is on the same network with a very strong wifi connection, every video refuses to play at all.
It’s not that it is buffering or loading or anything, it just does not want to play when it is in casting mode.
When I turn off casting to my chromecast the video starts playing like normal, but with casting enabled any video just stops working at all. On my TV it just says that is is ready to stream but on the server side (my computer) nothing happens other than the loading icon keeps turning.
Is this a known bug or is there a way around it, I thought Plex was a godsend now that I had a chromecast and could easily cast my video’s with custom subs to my TV but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.
Could anyone inform me what I could do in this situation, does anyone have any other alternatives that can cast MKV + custom SRT/ASS subtitle files to a chromecast?
Well I’ll be adding the server logs if that would be useful to anyone, hope I can get this to work and I thank anyone in advance for further information!
