Can not tune to one only channel, recording from that channel still works

I have about 50 channels avail in Plex via HDHR Prime. They all seem to work ok but SOMETIMES, CNN does not work for LiveTV. Depending on the client I try to watch it live from (Web, Shield, iOS) I get a different error (unable to create session, no parts, can not tune etc). The tricky thing is that I can still record shows from the channel. Usually, restarting Plex (Win7) clear things up. I have checked to make sure there is no hung tuner on the HDHR etc. Anybody else having this issue?

sounds very similar to what I was seeing here. http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/292197/failure-to-retune-the-same-channel. There have been several minor version upgrades of PMS since I first reported it, and it hasn’t been fixed (though I didn’t really expect it to be fixed since no one acknowledged it). I grabbed the logs from this weekend when I tried to start live tv on a channel 8-10 times before it finally worked. I’ll throw them on here when I get home this evening.

Logs are attached. As I mentioned, there should be several instances of the issue happening within a half hour of the archive creation time(15:20:52 1 Jan 2018)

@kinoCharlino Can we get anyone to take a look at this? I’d be more than happy to do any testing necessary to reproduce the problem.

there must be folks who pay for the Plex Super Premium Pass in order to get Plex to look into issues they report. Plex pass apparently is not good enough…

That’s your systems way of saying watch Fox News instead of CNN LOL

Kidding a side, there are a couple of related things causing this. I and other testers/Ninjas can reproduce this and are working with the devs to get this resolved.

Evidently it was finally resolved with the latest PMS beta release. Haven’t tested it myself yet though. http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/306191/some-channels-fail-to-start-live-viewing-but-can-record-and-watch-after
