I am a little frustrated. I did my research last year and picked up the Shield as my main media server at home with the idea I can take it with me when we go camping. I looked at many different walk throughs and understood at the time it should be possible. When camping I want to use the Shield both as the server and the client to play the content on our TV. I have the Plex Lifetime pass.
Well we will be leaving soon so I was going to get the Sheild ready but discover that the Plex Media Server will not even start on the Nvidia Shield without an internet connection.
Plex’s lack of official documentation in many key areas is frustrating and there lack of response on these forums equally so. I’ve had issues before with Plex and have managed to solve most of them thanks to others on this forum.
Does anyone know how to start the Nvidia Shield Plex Server without an internet connection?
If you do, then my 2nd question is do I need to do anything else to use the Plex Client on the Shield (without an internet connection) to watch videos?
To the Plex Developers, a lot of people ask for this feature you need to make it much easier to implement.
Thanks
