Can Plex only use Album art from the ID3 tags when creating libraries

I have a large amount of individual MP3 songs (not albums). I have created libraries using the “Prefer local metadata” option. I have also set the Artist and Album agents to use “Local media assets”.
The tracks are being indexed successfully using the Artist and Track information from the ID3 tags. However, I do not get any album art. The MP3 songs do have album art in the ID3 tags. Is there some way to have Plex use the Album art from the ID3 tags?

In the libraries advanced settings scroll down to Album art and select local files only.
